Camelot lies on the north, highly developed coast of the wonderful Mediterranean island of Crete, somewhere between two of the most visited touristic destinations of the island, the seaside villages of Malia and Chersonissos.
A visitor has numerous of interesting options to spend his time over here.
There are plenty of cafés, bars, clubs and restaurants serving the world famous Cretan cuisine, as well as international specialties.
But for a more relaxing time you can always visit the old traditional village of Malia that lies just up the hill, with its old stone houses, the St. George’s plaza, one of the coolest places of the village. Don’t hesitate to taste the local specialties in the traditional cafes and small garden restaurants you will see in every corner of it.
Nearby are also the ruins of the ancient Minoan palace of Malia, one of the greatest cities of the Minoan civilization, ruled by King Sarpidon, the brother of King Minos of Knossos.
Next to the ruins is a wonderful long sandy beach where you can cool down swimming in the big Aegean blue.
