Malia is a modern town situated at the north-east coast of Crete, just 36 kilometers away from the capital of the island, Heraklio. For two decades the town has been perhaps the most important tourist resort, especially for young people seeking the ideal combination of sea and nightlife. With many kilometers of beaches with thin, white-sand, as well as with dozens of restaurants, pubs and clubs promising amusement till dawn, Malia has rightfully gained its title as the center of entertainment in all Crete!

During the day, head for the nearest beach, showing a preference to the central beach which is located at the end of the coastline road. There you will find wonderful blue waters and a series of deck chairs waiting for you! Be sureto taste flavors from all kinds of cuisine in the restaurants that you will come across on your way to the beach or have something to eat in the shops that are on the central beach.

Happy train!
You can follow all the above, and not only, routes with one of the tourist trains “Happy Train” that you will find in the area of Malia and Stalida. With frequent itineraries, many and flexible stop points, cheap tickets assuring even long stops in the areas that interest you, you can get from the edge of Stalida to the edge of Malia or take a walk in the old village! You can also visit the village Krassi by train, but even the further village Mohos. For the specific destinations make sure to make a reservation from the previous day!
